Ayotes on the Horizon
The painter portrays the crops and parts of their personages. In this particular piece, the ayotes symbolize the time after the harvest, and display afterwards. The two items are placed in the “talanquera”, the entrance to the plots of the peasants, and in whose patios the fruits and vegetables are left, next to the chickens. The chickens are the manifestation of abundance, a theme very tried by the painter.
